OPENING REMARKS

We hope you enjoy the latest edition of The Electrical Connection. In this issue, we highlight the fast-growing military construction market, a market that continues to offer many unique opportunities for growth, along with some unique challenges. We have also profiled some projects in the rebounding hotel construction market. Our emphasis is in the luxury niche of this market with both large-branded and boutique projects.

In our Forum section, we asked several general contractors for comments on the challenges and solutions associated with project scheduling, with some interesting insight into meeting those challenges. We've included an analysis of the bond/surety market and what you can expect from them as they recover from one of the most difficult periods in their history. We also summarize an emerging safety excellence certification program available that we hope you will find informative.
