Allen S. King is a single-unit coal-fired generating plant with a cyclone boiler. The unit provides base load electric service, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parsons replaced the existing exciter on a 550MW generator with new collector assembly equipment and upgraded technology.  It included a 35KV connection to the power plant iso-phase bus.  Parsons was the general contractor, managing the work of the millwrights and mechanical contractor.  We relocated all power and control wiring to the plant smoke stack, including 911 and DOT antenna wiring.
